King Edward potatoes have been grown in the UK for over a century, and are characterised by their distinctive pink and white skins. Our King Edwards have been grown by specially selected growers, to produce richly flavoured potatoes with a soft, floury texture.
They are the king of roast potatoes, especially when cooked with goose fat or beef dripping, but also make a good mash and excellent dauphinoise.

Cooking instructions for perfect results
Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas Mark 6
Peel the potatoes and cut each one into even sized pieces.
Place the potatoes in a pan and cover with cold water and gently bring to the boil. Turn the heat down and simmer for 10-12 minutes. Meanwhile heat 50g of lard/dripping for each 1kg potatoes in a baking tray in the oven.
Drain the potatoes thoroughly in a colander.
Return the potatoes to the pan and shake the pan vigorously so that the potatoes become fluffy.
Add the potatoes to the baking tray ensuring the fat is very hot .Turning the potatoes so that they are evenly coated in oil.
Roast for 30 minutes.
Turn the potatoes again and return to the oven for 20 minutes or until crispy and golden.
