Anya wins Taste of Britain Silver Award

Run by the Daily Telegraph in association with Sainsbury's, the Taste of Britain Awards, now in the second year, aim to celebrate the best of British Food and Drink. Competition entries were invited in five categories and from the hundreds of responses received around ten per category made the shortlist. Last month a team of chefs cooked and presented the short listed produce to a panel of expert judges for them to make Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards in each category. Flavour and quality were obvious considerations, but entrants were also judged on their innovation, business acumen, environmental record and their distinct 'Britishness'. MBMG's silver award winning Anya potatoes along with all of the other Gold, Silver and Bronze award winners were featured in a Daily Telegraph 16 page supplement on Saturday 22nd September. The formal presentations were made at Highgrove on 10th October.
