Healthy New Year

If you're starting your New Year's resolution to get fit and healthy, or you've just had enough of the rich food at Christmas, there's no place better to start than with potatoes.

Potatoes are naturally low in fat (0.3g/100g when boiled) and packed full of vitamins and minerals. A 175g serving of potatoes boiled in their skins contains 44% of the RDA* for Vitamin C and 20% of the RDA* for Iron (*based on a 2000 calorie daily intake).

The greatest influence on how nutritious the meal with potatoes becomes is how they are cooked, together with how they are prepared and served.

For a quick and easy meal bake a Potato Lovers Baking potato in the microwave, or if you've got more time, in the oven. Serve hot with baked beans or tuna.

As a tasty, healthy addition to steamed fish or grilled meats, why not try our Anya or Juliette salad potatoes, simply prepared by boiling whole in their skins for approx. 20 minutes.
